Whitney Museum of American Art
Founded in 1931 by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, The Whitney houses the world's foremost collection of 20th-century American art. Exhibitions at the museum come in all shapes and sizes, from the blockbuster to the scholarly. Other events include lecture, film, and video series.
